Pageant Cards

Trading cards were created to promote certain businesses (such as cigarettes and confectionery) in the 1880s. Then they were used to support the various sports that were professionalizing. Baseball cards are among the first to be founded and best known.

Over the years, a wide variety of collectible cards with various content and themes (cartoon characters, comics, TV series or film) appeared on the market, but none covered pageantry. An attempt was made by Cypher Entreprise in 1982 with the Miss America state queen of 1982 and 1983, but this collection did not meet the expected success.

We analyzed this market and the various reasons for this failure before we decided to embark on the Pageant Cards adventure. We still have a little work and we will be happy to present you the first cards from January 2021…
